Hi Dear
Welcome to the HCM,
Usually GIT infections are quite common at this age due to excessive mouthing of fingers.
Many times minor infection do subside with due course of time except one has to take care of the possible dehydration to the child.
Oral sips of plain water, electrol water, rice dal soup at frequent intervals.
Stool culture can be sent for examination. And one can add some GIT specific antibiotic if at all some positive report comes from the stool culture.
Powergel contains metronidazole group medicine like ordinadazole which I would not like to give to such age group.
Hygiene of hand and mouth to be maintained.
ORS is main stay of the treatment.
Hope the query is answered.
Thanks
