Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi. thanks for writing in to HCM.

Your description seem to suggest a furuncle.

I would advice that you visit a dermatologist or physician. Your treating doctor would prescribe you a course of oral antibiotics for a week.(One from the Penicillin/cephalosporin group like Amoxycillin/clavulanic acid combination or cefadroxyl or cephelexin would do)

Apply topical mupirocin 2% ointment twice daily. Its available OTC.

Take a pain killer like ibuprofen 400 mg(adult dose) twice or thrice daily

take care
regards
