General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Delayed periods can be due to pregnancy or any hormonal disturbances like hypothyroidism, hyperprolactinemia or polycystic ovarian disease. Gall bladder surgery does not have any effect on the menstrual cycle.

Birth control pills will not have any effect on the menstrual cycle after six months of stopping.

Since you have a negative urine pregnancy test, Pregnancy is ruled out. I would suggest you to consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined, investigated including hormonal profile and ultrasound and get appropriate treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
