What Can Be Done If My Other Hides Things And Denies That?
My 86 yr old mother takes things and hides them, and absolutely denies anything to do with the missing items, even though she and I are the only ones in the house. I want her to live her last days in a home environment, but I don t know what to do about this problem.
Your mother may be developing dementia. That is one possiblity. She would need to be seen by her GP for referral to a memory clinic or psychiatrist for the elderly. However, medical problems may present similarly eg disorders of the thyroid or an infection.
