What Can Be Done When One Is Unable To Void Urine Without Intake Of Tamsulosin?
My husband has been on tamsulosin 0.4 mg for 2 weeks. He has been catherized once (last Thur.) The catheter was removed on the following Wed. He was able to void for two days. Friday he could not. He took and extra tamsulosin and was able to void. Today he is having the same problem. I don t know what to do.
In my opinion, you may try a dose of 2 tablets daily for some time and then try to reduce it to 1 tablet daily. If, the problem persists after reducing the dose, you may continue with 2 tablets. The dose of 2 tablets is also a safe dose of Tamsulosin.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

It sounds like a prostate problem. He should go see a urologist for a urinary flow measurement, rectal examination and possibly trans-anal ultrasound.
