What Can Be Expected Of A CT Scan Taken 5 Weeks After A Scaphoid Fracture?

I got a CT scan after 5weeks of my scaphoid fracture, what should I expect from this report is my fracture healing or not ? It read mild intermittent CT attenuation seen over tubercle of scaphoid; which may be suggestive of a racture with callus formation, A think sclerotic curvilinear line is seen near lunate which maybe suggestive of a previous microfracture articular surfaces are normal. No soft tissue changes seen.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

After a scaphoid fracture it takes 4-6 weeks to heal. On CT scan there can be evidence of healing if the bone fragments were not displaced. The findings are suggestive of healing.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Praveen Tayal, Orthopaedic Surgeon
