What Can Be The Cause For Mass On The Cervix During The Pregnancy?

I have had three very healthy pregnancies and I am 38 and was 18 weeks and went for a gender ultrasound to find no heart beat, i was induced 3 times, lost a lot of blood, had to have 2 transfusions, and to top it off the ob found a mass on my cervix which was miraculously removed with the delivery. All i keep hearing is he came for a reason, to save you, blah blah blah i want to know what happened!!!!! Can you give me any medical reasoning?

Dear madam,I understand your concern.the mass on the cervix may be a polyp or fibroid.it might be there prior your pregnancy and grown upto this stage. But not diagnosed earlier. And it was incidentally seen at induction.it is not associated with the pregnancy.cervical polyps are seen most commonly among cervical masses.polyps are due to chronic cervical infection and inflammation.fibroids are also seen rarely for no particular reason.the mass which is removed might have sent for pathological examination to know the nature ie.,whether it is benign or malignant. And depending on the result you will be treated accordingly.Dont worry cervical inflammation is commonly seen in sexually active women.
