Hi! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
If I were your doctor, after a initial clinical assessment of your abdomen, I would advise you for a urine routine/microscopic/culture sensitivity test to rule out a UTI, a
complete blood count, and in case of a female patient of reproductive age group, a serum
HCG test to rule out a undiagnosed
pregnancy if sexually active. In addition, I would also advise you for an
ultrasound of abdomen to rule out a ureteric calculi on the left side considering the history of servere pain off and on. Till then, I would advise you for an anti spasmodic along with a
proton pump inhibitor drug for a symptomatic relief. Further management would depend on the reports of investigations and clinical assessment.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
