What Can Be The Reason Of Swelling In Lower Abdomen With Pain?

Hello, my girlfriend and i recently got into a car accident. Her lower abdomen swelled and was hurting, we assumed it was from the seatbelt. However, the swelling is increasingly bigger and starts hurting more and more. What could be a possible reason for this? and is it dangerous? How should we address it?

OB & GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Pain in the lower abdomen along with swelling which is increasing in nature. It could be a bleed also or a blood clot. Ask her to have a physician consultation immediately to avoid any other emergency procedure. We also need to take MRI and ultrasound abdomen to look for any abnormalities in the abdomen.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
