What Can Cause A Blurred Vision Followed By A Severe Headache?

why did I lose vision and now have a headache?
I was watching a movie last night and noticed that I couldn't see the faces of the people and after a few minutes I could see the faces but not the edges of the screen. I turned on the light to bring my eyes into focus but had no periphial sight out of my left eye. my daughter was trying to make me "flinch" but my eye was not responding unless hand was directly in front of me. even a littte out of direct sight and her hand would disappear.... all night I woke up with a headache and today I can see but have a massive headache... this is very out of charachter for me as I never have headaches.

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
It seems from the history that you are having losd of visual field with headache and vision has recovered but headache is persisting.
These symptoms indicate transient loss of vision and causes to be ruled out are carotid artery disease, prodromal symptom of retinal artery occlusion...
Hence this requires evaluation by your ophthalmologist to find out the underlying cause and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
