I was diagnosed with acid reflux after an endoscopy May 29 and then I was told I also have intestinal metaplasia. I have never experienced the usual reflux symptoms, i.e. heartburn, difficultly swallowing; instead my stomach growls and I feel hungry even right after I have eaten. I sometimes have a metallic taste in my mouth, almost a stinging, tender sensation along with occasional nausea. I am following a low FODMAP diet, taking digestive supplements but don't feel like I'm improving much. I also have gained some weight and feel bloated. About the same time all this started I noticed excess rectal mucous that is clear in color and doesn't seem to have an odor. I do have hemorrhoids which I have read can cause this. I am concerned that perhaps I have not been properly diagnosed or need a different treatment to start to feel better.
