What Can Cause Blood In The Nappy Of A 3 Wk Old Male Child Other Than Untreated Skin In The Penis?

Hi there,
My son is 3weeks on Monday, we spot in the last 2 times that there was blood in the nappy, the doctor said that his skin in the penis didn't retreat and it is a bit infected, he said that he didn't know what to do and after some thinking he gave us some steroid cream to put in his penis for three times a day,I am wondering if that would be the cause that makes the wee to go red or if there is some more internal infection like cystitis?

The blood in the nappy could be due to the blood from the penis,or anus due to internal cause, or due to scratch in the skin.
I advise you to consult a pediatrician for diagnosis and treatment.
he may need to have urine and stools examination for blood.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms cifixime syrum B.D.
