What Can Cause Blood Mucus In Stools Of Kids?

Hi my 2 and half year old little girl sometime has trouble going a poo, which is every other month. And I have noticed that she got some bloodly mucus in the middle of her stool which is quite hard and she is in tears when this happens it can last a week or two. I m just wondering if it something I should be worried about. Thank

Hi thanks for contacting HCM...

She might had gastrointestinal infection like gastroenteritis ....
So blood can be there in stool...
Although chance less rectal area should be examined for inflammation like proctitis ...

She is given more water ...
Ofloxacin like antibiotic given ....
Give her fruits more ...
Green lefy veg given more ....
Excess spicy food not given ....

Get her stool examined for parasites egg or trophozoites ....
If amebic infection present than metronidazole given. ....

Consult pediatrician for that ....
