What Can Cause Burning Sensation During Urination And Red Bumps In The Vagina?

I went to the doctors for an sti test yesterday and I haven’t got results back but she said she was treating me for gonorrhoea or chlamydia and and I took the tablet but nothing has changed. It still burns so bad when I pee and I only had 1 red bump on my vagina which she thought was an ingrown hair but now there’s like 5. And there’s little bumps on the inside of my vagina. Any idea what it is?

Hello,

It is nice to know that you already have had STD tests and are waiting for the reports. You have not mentioned here what medicines your treating doctor has prescribed to you. Anyways, burning sensation during urination is indicative of UTI. Get urinalysis (C/S and R/E) done so that you can be given specific antibiotics. If your STD tests come positive you will be treated with antivirals and antibiotics.

Red bumps in the vagina can be ingrown hairs, genital warts, herpes infection, etc. You will be treated accordingly depending on your symptoms and severity of the pathology detected. You can apply anti-warts creams (Imiquimod (Aldara, Zyclara) or Podophyllin and podofilox (Condylox) to ease discomfort. Drink plenty of water, avoid using public washrooms and toilets. Take care of your hygiene. Take regular bath. Avoid sex for a couple of days.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
