Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
MY 97 YO MOTHER IS GOOD AND IN GOOD HEALTH BUT IN THE LAST YEAR SOMETIMES SHE IS GETTING CONFUSED AND BEING IN HER APARTMENT IS STILL CALLING ME AND ASKS TO DRIVE HER TO HER APARTMENT ... EVERYBODY JUST TELLING ME " oH, SHE IS 97!". OLD PEOPLE ARE NOT AUTOMATICALLY CONFUSED PEOPLE. SHE IS ON FEW MEDICATIONS FOR B/P AND ON hALOPERIDOL 0.5MG BID.
It is the geriatric psychological phenomenon and pretty common among some old person, it is not the illness that harms the patient neither it needed any medicine, just big moral support will be much helpful for them else it is nothing to worry.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
