I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain there is a possibility that excessive salivation and coughing at night can be due to acid reflux or can also be due to allergic reaction to some unknown allergen exposure to which might have caused the following symptoms.. Tenderness in chest can be due to excessive coughing while it can also be due to acid causing injury to food pipe.. In case if you do not have any such symptoms now it is fine but in case if there are recurring episodes of the same problem consult a General Physician and get evaluated and he can do a clinical evaluation and investigations as per the suspected cause and can also refer you to an appropriate specialist..
Hope this information helps..
