What Can Cause Depression Along With Excessive Anger?

My husband, age 68, is showing signs of depression. He gets very angry toward me and blows up at the slightest thing that goes wrong(i.e.: leaving a light on) He refuses to get medical help or counseling. I also have had some PTSD symptoms lately as I had 3 near death experiences last summer. I am getting help myself. Do you have any ideas? Thanks, SG

Hello,

If you think it is the depression he is having (Although it has to be confirmed clinically) then the first thing you need to do it moral support.

Do not try to argue with him try to listen to him with great care he should not feel that he is being neglected.

If this fails to work then you have to see the Doctor for clinical observation, it may not be depression but could be some social or economic disturbances.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
