Just a couple days ago I started experiencing a hypersensitve gag reflex. Just my toothbrush touching my tongue made me gag. Now a few days later i’m having difficulty swallowing my food combined with gagging everytime I eat. I even gag when i’m not even eating sometimes. I’ve had no history of any health issues. So i’m wondering if you could help me figure out whats happening. I think i’m starting to lose weight because i’m too scared to eat in fear of choking which isnt a wise idea considering i’m only 110 pounds as it is. Today i felt like I almost choked on my soup 3 times. Each time this happens the food gets stuck in my throat, my body has the fight or flight response of panic and then it goes down. Last time this happened I chalked it up to anxiety because I do suffer from anxiety pretty badly and last time this has happened its went away. I was eating just fine a couple days ago. I don’t know if this is just in my head or if I have an actual health issue i should get checked out. I’m a 23 year old female.
