What Can Cause Fluctuating BP Towards The Extreme Within A Day?

My blood pressure is too high, now sometimes it goes too low, this morning 169/80 p85 later 138/68 P90 now 100/56 p85 I can do the treadmill and it comes down, now it is coming down too low and I feel bad. It has been stable for four weeks and now Thanksgiving has caused it to go up.

Dear patient,

This is called labile blood pressure, and can be seen in situiations in which there is impaired regulation of the nerves that control the blood vessel tone such as in diabetes, parkinson's disease etc, sometimes it can be seen in the abscence of another condition; usually the mainstay is to try to use the blood pressure medications that are more constant in maintaining the blood pressure within a certain range such as calcium channel blockers and diuretics. I suggest discussing your current medical regimen with your physician.
