Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was laying in bed about three nights ago and it started to feel like I could feel my own heart beat like a spasm then the next morning I woke up and couldn’t feel anything but then 45 Minutes later it started again. Now I don’t feel that anymore but my heart has little pains and I sometimes get lite headed getting up and down. I’m pretty healthy.
Palpitations could be a increase in normal heart rate or could be a abnormal arrythmia. Difference could only be made by taking a ECG at the time of this papitation. Sometimes the duration of the palpitation is so less to reach the hospital than we put a 24 hr continuous ECG monitoring device called Holter Monitor to make out the exact diagnosis and further management.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Sameer Maheshwari, Cardiologist
