I had type 2 diabetes, well-controlled with 500 mg metformin BID. I have been lax in checking my sugar levels, but over the weekend, sugar was in high 200's, low 300's. Only thing new is that I started Oxybutynin about three weeks ago. Could that drug cause a spike in blood sugar? And, if so, can I stop taking it immediately?
Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns. Oxybutynin ,an antspasmodic does not cause high blood sugar as side effects. It does not interact with metformin.
