What Can Cause Insomnia After Stopping Escitalopram?
I was taking escitalopram or anti depressant for almost 2 years then a quickly stop because i have my vacation here in japan for 6 months...almost 3 months that i didnot take it...and i was working 10 hours at night 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and my anxiety comes back...i was tried to take again anti depressant last May 26,2018 and until now almost 5 days that i have 2 or 3 hours sleep...having difficulty sleeping...whats happening on me?
It should never be stopped suddenly. Shorter-acting drugs like escitalopram need slowly discontinuation in tapering doses to prevent withdrawal symptoms like you are experiencing now.
Now you can take alprazolam for insomnia with physicians advice. These symptoms usually disappear in 3-4 weeks. If they are severe then consult your treating physician.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
