What Can Cause Low RBC, Hemoglobin And TSH Levels?

My sister just told me her blood work shows low hemoglobin, low red blood cells and TSH level below low. This was on Friday and her Dr hasn t called her yet. What might be the reasons for these to be happening. She is 76, usually active but now tired a lot, frequently gets a dizzy spell. Worried about her. Thanks

The low haemoglobin would definitely contribute to her fatigue if it is significantly abnormal. If the change is minor, then it is not likely to cause symptoms.

TSH is a substance that is released from an area in the brain and tells the thyroid gland to release thyroid hormone. Thyroid hormone levels (T3 and T4) would need to be checked to see their specific level.

Hi,

Low hemoglobin is responsible for tiredness and dizziness you are experiencing. Start Fericip XT tablets 1 at night for 2-3 months. It can cause diarrhea/constipation, brown colored stool as side effects however if they are tolerable then no need to shift on parenteral preparations.

For low TSH consult endocrinologist for full thyroid evaluation.
