What Can Cause Muscle Weakness And Vertigo While Suffering From Multiple Sclerosis?
My wife has had an issue with her balance and muscle weakness. She s 70 years old and has multiple sclerosis which has be pretty well controlled. In the last couple of days she has needed help with ambulation and today she was talking gibberish which resolved when she sat for some time. This is very unnerving. Her doctor change her prescriptions recently. The biggest change was with Effexor. What are you thoughts? Thanks

Both muscle weakness and vertigo can be symptoms of multiple sclerosis. She will need to see her doctor and have a full examination, including a neurological exam. A viral infection or other infection should be ruled out as well.
