What Can Cause Numbness And Stiffness In The Hands While Suffering From Marfan Syndrome?

My 22 year old nephew has marfan syndrome. He is scheduled for heart surgery to repair arota in august. Today he started complaining of head ache and feeling nauseous. He was taken to the emergency room by his parents. They did a brain and heart scan and everything showed to be fine. His vitals were all good. He is still complaining of numbness in his hands and says his hands are stiff and he can t move them. He was discharged from the ER. What could be causing the numbness and stiffness of his hands?

Hello,

Numbness or stiffness may be due to neuropathy or electrolyte imbalance or anemia or a migrainous headache or seizure disorder etc.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is.

Get it done complete hemoglobin, serum electrolytes, urine examination and MRI brain and spinal cord.

Please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
