What Can Cause Pain Above The Eye Socket Upon Raising The Eyebrow?

For several days I have had pain at the top of my eye socket when I raise my right eyebrow. I have numbness in my eyebrow and forehead above the eye that extends to the right temple. There is a feeling like tissue pulling in my forehead and scalp at the same time I raise the eyebrow. There is no pain when eyebrow is relaxed. What could be causing this?

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello,

The reason maybe neurological so may be referred to a neurologist. likely facial nerve is affected. The neurologist has to find out which branch of facial nerves is affected.

He should find out. For its management either exercise of the eyebrow should be done or a short course of steroid can be tried.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
