What Can Cause Pain And Bleeding From The Ears Of A Child?

I was downswing my 8 yr old son ear and the cotton swab went to deep. After a few seconds blood came out of his ear. It lasted a few seconds. He put his towel to stop blood and then a cotton ball to substitute the towel.

He says it hurts little sometimes and he says that sometimes he can hear and sometimes he can’t.

My husband believes it is ok to wait until we see our family doctor Monday.

I am still freezing out as it was a mistake I made I went too deep. I never liked cleaning his ear and I am always so careful but not today.!!!!

I am afraid I damaged his ear drum!!

Hi,

First of all, you should never clean the ear of the child yourself.
Always go for a well-qualified doctor. In my opinion, there are huge chances that you have ruptured his eardrum.
You should go for a doctor consultation and child should be started on antibiotics and painkillers before he pics up the infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
