What Can Cause Pain And Discomfort While Swallowing Food After An Insect Bite On The Neck?

I had some sort of bug bite on the back of my neck last Tuesday, and it was very inflammed and itchy and felt like there were smaller bites beneath it. It is less swollen, but I have developed a very sore and stiff neck, am very tired, and today woke up feeling some minor pain and discomfort when swallowing food.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It may be allergic reaction to bed sting. Other possibilities like wasp sting or tick or flea bites causing Lyme's disease.

Mosquito, spider bites also may cause malaria, viral fevers.

So take rest, drink plenty of water, use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling.

Use tablet Pantoprazole.

If symptoms not improved please consult your doctor immediately he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care
