Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Can Cause Recurrent Anal Fissure Along With Pain In The Stomach And Hips?
my now 4 year old had a anal fissure at 2 that took a very long time to heal. She was on Resoralax up until 3 months ago, and it seems it has came back or never fully healed. Even when she was off the laxative, she always had diarrah like poos( never even close to hard) and will refuse to poo sitting down, only standing because she said it would hurt. Currently she is experiencing spasms that last anywhere from 1-15 minutes, and feels pain in her hips, stomach, tailbone and legs. She has to either stand or lay down( can't sit until after she passes a bowel movement.) the entire area is painful to any touch and even water sometimes. I'm worried there may be a greater problem cause the fissure to reoccurs or never actually heal
But this problem is very unusual in a four years old child except if she is suffering from severe constipation which is not the case. Please make sure she is not sexually abused which can cause such severe complications.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
