I am 35 weeks 3 days pregnant and for the past week with any quick movement like turning around or getting up I get a sharp pain in my sternum. Not sure if it is the baby causing it, the size of my belly or what. It lasts for about a minute and then goes away and when i touch it feels like a bruise for a little while

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. Your symptoms seem to be due to calcium & Vitamin D deficiency. Belly size, size of the baby may contribute to it. In pregnancy demand of nutrients is increased -for development of fetus. Calcium 500 mg daily with a glass of milk & Vitamin D injection every week for 3 weeks should relieve. Thanks.
