Hi,

For patients who use amlodipine, this is the most likely cause of leg swelling even if a patient has been taking it for years. The swelling may start without any warning.

Other potential causes include heart failure, proteinuria with low albumin levels, serious thyroid disease, venous insufficiency, etc. I don't believe that B12 is the cause because this is not a common symptom for B12 deficiency.

You can try taking amlodipine at night and perhaps also reduce the dosage to 5mg. If this is not enough then switching to another drug may be the final solution.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
