What Can Cause Swelling In The Lower Leg While On Treatment For COPD?

I am currently being treated for asthma/COPD. My undiagnosed condition, however, is that my right lower leg , foot and especially instep is very bloated. I had an ultrasound performed on the area yesterday and it showed no clots. Blood work was also done but I have not gotten the results yet.

Hi,

Ultrasound is not showing blood clots, no need to worry for deep venous thrombosis. This kind of Unilateral pedal edema is also seen with cellulitis (infection of skin).
So start oral antibiotics, anti inflammatory drugs, glycerine magnesium sulphate dressing etc. Limb elevation is also important.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
