Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Can Cause The Colon Lining To Appear Thick And Agitated?
I have been dealing with random and quite extreme cases of nausea and vomiting. It is usually accompanied with constipation & or stomach cramps. It started over a year ago. I’ve been ruled out for chrons, silica & colitis. My blood work and ultrasounds have all come back clear. No doctors agree on what could be the problem. Plus nothing helps my nausea. Last year after being in the hospital almost two weeks I came home and smoked medical marijuana. The sick pit in my stomach was gone! Believe me it didn’t cure me but it helpedwith my appetite & even helps me relax to poop in the mornings. Anyhow the only thing the doctors can agree on is that my colon lining appears thick & or agitated.... what could this be? Oh and my blood pressure goes through the roof during these episodes. Yesterday my BP was 187/127. I normally do not run high.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
* According to my long surgical experience, the thickness of colon walls indicate inflammation of some sort which is not seen in the current work up.
* I would strongly recommend to discuss the need of colon biopsy if not taken till now.
Hope I have answered your query.
