Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Can Cause To Develop Purpura And Its Travel Towards To The Heart?
Off- late I am observing that a purpura was developing just above heart region and traveling upto my left shoulder after a brisk exercise. The purpura faded after an hour.I am not known to have hypertension, and cardiac problems. It was reappeared next day when I finished my exercise. I am 57 years old and a known type Ii diabetic patient. For a long time approximately for the last twenty years my platelet count varies between 120000 to 150000. It went never above that. I am wondering whether is it an indication of any serious heart problems which have not been detected by my cardiologist. Thanks a lot for an answe. Regards, GSM
Hi I did review your condition From the problem you have described, the lesion you have over your chest does not seem to be a purpura as they do not fade away in an hour since they are made of extravasated blood. Your platelet counts are also low normal which generally few people normally have and do not cause abnormal bleeding. WHat it can be though is that the purpura like lesions that develop with exercise and that You should get it evaluated from a Dermatologist. I hope this helps Wish you a very healthy and a happy life.
