What Can Cause Weight Gain Along With Fatigue, Photophobia And Joint Ache?

For the past year I have documented the following changes in my body: •     Unexplained weight gain with no change in diet •     Inability to work out like I once could (frequent injuries, lack of energy and fatigue) •     Sores on my checks and nose area (these are very painful blisters filled with watery substance and bleed very easily) •     Sensitive to light (I prefer low light in all areas of the house and very dark in my room – the normal lighting irritates my vision and squint a lot, more sensitive to sun light than ever before) •     Abnormal kidney functions in last Kaiser testing ( signs of kidney disease ) •     Every joint seems to hurt ( sensitive to walk in the mornings, knees feel like they are going to go out, chronic hip pain in both hips primarily when I sleep and to the touch) •     Minor hair loss – (Brush is full of hair but not noticeable on my head. )

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Frequent injuries, sores in cheeks, sensitivity to light, abnormal kidney function tests, every joint to be hurt, minor hair loss, weight gain, just mentioned possible causes are:

1. Connective tissue disorders.
2. Chronic fatigue syndrome.
3. Major depression with a migraine headache.
4. Hypothyroidism.
5. Anemia, hormonal imbalance.

Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Please check for complete blood picture, urine examination, haemoglobin, thyroid status, ANA and RA factor.

Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
