Hello,
I can understand your concern. The black line on the
tonsil that keeps pricking your tongue seems to be a tonsillar stone or tonsilolith. If you will try to pick at it, it may come out easily. Otherwise, you can visit a physician or
ENT specialist who can remove it for you. Sometimes the stone comes out by itself.
The
red blisters that are present from the roof of the mouth to the tonsillar area can be either an
allergic reaction or viral infection. You should start antihistamine to target the allergic reaction.
Loratidine 10 mg (Lorfast) once a day for 5-7 days is the medicine and dose for the allergic reaction.
However, if it is due to viral infection, it will heal on its own as the body's immunity will take over in a week to 10 days. No treatment is needed for viral infection and symptomatic treatment will suffice for relief from pain. You can apply local
Benzocaine gel (Mucopain) over the blisters 3-4 times a day. You can also take drug
Rebagen 3 times a day for 10 days.
If the condition is not improved in a week, you should consult an ENT specialist for clinical examination and further investigations.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. I wish you feel better soon.
Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
