Yes, occassionaly but several times daily i seem to have light flashes in my line of signt. It seems sometimes as if time skips or is altered. I know its not but don't know if it is a vision funtion or a brain function. somewhat concerned as it is occuring more often, I am 56 years old. Is this unheard of?

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
It seems from the history that you are having symptoms of flashes of light.
These symptoms indicate peripheral retinal diseases like retinal tear, traction on retina as in posterior vitreous detachment....
Hence this requires evaluation and treatment by a ophthalmologist.
If diagnosed and treated early the onset of potentially dangerous problems like retinal detachment can be prevented. Hence I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist for examination and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
