my child is 1yr and seven months old . he is suffering from loose stools with mucus for the past one month. my doctor diagnosed him as "giordiosis" and prescribed the mediicne "metrogyl", i gave him a course of metrogyl, but even after that medication he is suffering from the same problem. is he suffering from any other problem

Hi...thanks for consulting at HCM. It seems your kid is having acute watery diarrhea. Unless the kid's having low urine output or very dull or excessively sleepy or blood in motion or green bilious vomiting...you need not worry. Antibiotics or antihelminthics might worsen if unnecessarily used. I suggest you use zinc supplements & ORS...hope my answer was helpful for you. Happy to help anytime.
