For the last two years, I have sporadic intense pain in my throat and chest when eating. I always throw up because it hurts too much. Nothing helps but throwing up and then I'm instantly better. It usually happens with rice but other foods sometimes trigger it too. I am 38 yrs. old
Hello, There are two things pain while swallowing or difficulty in swallowing . Throwing up is more common in difficulty in swallowing. If so is the case then you need to consult an ENT specialist and get done endoscopy for the region up to the start of food pipe or at level of vocal cords . Then you can also get done barium sallow in which a dye is to be swallowed and serial x rays are taken to see for the flow of the dye. In which if there is any mass or motility disorder can be searched for. In doubt do reply.
