What Caused A Painful Heavy Period With Bleeding And Clotting After Childbirth?

I just had my first period after having my second child 11 months ago. I was breastfeeding for 10 months and did not have a period. My first period. was extremely painful and super heavy. I passed two huge clots. they were dark purple/greyish looking. after i passed them my cramping seemed to ease up. I still continued to bleed heavy with normal little clots. I have had two regualar periods since then. No heavy bleeding or cramping. Did I have a miscarriage. or just a weird heavy period?

the first period which came during breast feeding ,can be heavie due to anovulation which causes different hormone balance. I do no think it was amisscarriage. you had had 2 regular periods since then.
