I am a 25 year old male and I discovered a couple drops of blood after urination last night, it was normal blood color. I felt no pain and have no problems after. Recently I have been playing a lot of hockey and it puts stress on my lower back. Do you have any advice? Thanks
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
* As per my clinical experience, the blood after urination is due to concentrated urine from excess hockey playing and fluid loss.
* Drinking plenty of liquids for next 24 hours will clear the issue without any doubts.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

To get an idea of the nature of your bloody urine, I would need to know if the blood was in the urine, or dripping from your penis after voiding? Also, if you saw blood clots (like strings of coagulated blood). Being 25 years old and presumably in excellent health, I would not worry, but you should see your doctor for a urinalysis and kidney function tests. The stress on your lower back is likely muscular and a result of strenuous, explosive exercise such as hockey.
