I had a brief 1-2 minute episode of a black curtain across my left eye. No recent eye trauma. I had been reading, was sitting down. Moved into another room and then noticed this dark shadow/curtain. It resolved on its own and I don't notice any other problems with that eye. I am near-sighted with some astigmatism. No other medical conditions. Since it resolved on its own is there anything to be concerned about.
Hello It seems from the history that you had a episode of black curtain in front of left eye which lasted for 1-2 minute. This indicates an episode of transient loss of vision. This requires evaluation by a ophthalmologist as it may indicate underlying disease which requires evaluation and treatment. The common causes are vascular occlusions of retina, vascular diseases affecting the carotid artery, peripheral vascular diseases, prodromal phase of migraine, papilledema..... Hence I advice you not to ignore this but to undergo evaluation.
Thank you
