What Causes A Black Shadow In The Eye After Implantation?

Dear Doc, i had a surgery a month ago for removal of posterior polar Catract my vision is fine i was implanted IOL monofocal and everything is fine except i see a black shadow like spot on right side of my right eye it is like, a small black spot on right glass at extreme right. although it doesnt block my vision at all but what exactly it is.

Thanks for posting your query.

From your description, it is a floater. It is a perfectly harmless condition, for which no treatment is required. Since the cataract has been removed, you can see it more clearly. It won't block your vision and you will gradually get used to it. So no treatment is required. If in case, there is a sudden increase in the number of spots, or you see flashes of light, then you need a consultation.
