What Causes A Brown Discharge Post An Abortion?

Hi. My wife had an abortion 10 days ago. She had stopped bleeding and then it started again 3 days ago. It s dark brown, is this normal?. She is experiencing headaches and feels dizzy too. She also felt cramps on her left side a couple of days ago which have stopped but she says that her urine is pinkish/ light reddish that last 2 days.

Welcome to Health care magic.

1.The history suggest - incomplete abortion.
2.An ultrasound pelvis will help to detect the presence of incomplete abortion ( RPOC - retained products of conception)
3.Once its diagnosed - treatment of choice would be - D&C dilatation and curettage ( surgical minor procedure to scrap the retained products)
4.Urinary symptoms your wife experiencing would be the incidental urinary tract infection.
5.I would recommend to get an ultrasound even after D&C for confirmation.
6.Suggest to take adequate protection ( contraception ) to avoid this kind of complications - as the is risky in long run. Good luck.

Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
