Hi

Development of redness at the prick site could either be suggestive of a bruise due to bleeding at the site or it could be due to allergy to the cleaning agent used before taking the blood sample .
A bruise usually tends to settle in a week.
You may notice color changes as it heals .
An allergic reaction could present with red itchy lesions .
In either case ,do not apply any other cream or oil over the affected area.
See a nearby doctor is it tends to persist .
