Hi. My daughter had her ears pierced in September and when I changed the earrings in December, one bled slightly and some of the inner ear seemed to come out. When I changed the earrings today, there was a small bump on that same ear and blood and pus appeared to have dried on the earring stem. What should I do now?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have bump on the ear after ear piercing which is mainly because of infection which occur during piercing due to which wound does not heal properly and pus discharge and pain occurs. It could be due to improperly sterilized instruments. Well this is very common problem during piercing, need not to panic about it. Healing can take 2-4 weeks. If symptoms keeps on persisting visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. Maintain hygiene of that area. Keep wound clean with betadine. Take proper course of antibiotics. If pus still persists drainage under anesthesia is the solution of your problem. Apply antiseptic lotion as well locally. If there is delayed healing due to irritation of ring, remove the rings for few days and re apply after healing.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
