I went tanning last week for the second time in my life & was in the megabed for 17 minutes. I got really sunburnt & decided to stop. I ve recently started peeling and noticed a red line, about an inch to 1/2 of one, on the right side of my behind. It s not a cut or anything, and I feel a bump there. It feels bruised on the inside. Is that anything to worry about????
I can understand your concern for bumpy red line on the skin along with peeling of the skin. I can get from your query that you have acute photo-toxic reaction after the tanning episode. I suggest you to not to repeat such kind of procedure as can cause more aggravation and further complications. It is also quite important to do sun prevention at your best. In your kind of cases it is important to meet a family physician or dermatologist preferably. In my patients I suggest them to apply fluticasone cream and calamine lotion along with cold compression. You may require a dose of oral steroid to get earliest relief.
All the best.
