What Causes A Child To Be Born Without A Bone In Thumb?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...my son was born with lack of bones in his thumb he had surgery to remove the thumb and they relocated his pointer finger to the position of the thumb.. what is the exact diagnosis i have a form for DHS the dr signed but failed to write the diagnosis... I have to turn in this paper this morning and the office is closed on fridays... thank you

Absent thumb is associated with many condition like skeleton dysplesia, craniosynostosis, various syndrome like fancony anemia, VECTERL, diamond blackfan anemia, So we need to search for other abnormalities/ problems,
need to body organ functions, investigations to make a diagnosis.
