What Causes A Deep Cut Near The Eye Socket In A 5 Year Old?

My 5 yr old daughter suffered a relatively small (3/4 inch), but somewhat deep cut to her face yesterday. It is to the right of her right eye, in the area of her eye socket and cheek bone. A nurse in a medical clinic stiched her up with 2 or 3 stitches. Should we have a plastic surgeon look at it? I question whether we should have gone to an ER with a surgeon on call.

Hello. I just read through your question.
As long as there was no loss of consciousness at the time of the cut, there was no reason to go to the ER. I generally like to have a plastic surgeon look at anything on the face.
