I am 41 years old. I had my tubes tied in 1994 during a c-section. Around 2008 I had surgery because I bled for a about 5 weeks and I had a cyst on my right ovarie. I was fixing to get remarried and was looking into having my tubes fixed so of course I didn t want a partial or whole hysterectomy so the doctor left the cyst and just drained it. My periods are always on time. I may go down a few days the next month but I m never late with my period and as of today I m 16 days late. I ve felt exhausted for weeks to the point of can t keep my eyes open and I have had cramps and even back cramps that I never have. I ve been bloated and certain smells make me want to throw up. I have did 4 pregancy test which all say negative. I did a lot of reading on the internet and thought maybe my thyroid but I don t have all the symptoms. I ve had friends say it could be premenopausal but I m not having hot/cold flashes or anything like that. I don t know if menopause is a heredity thing but my mom had my 17 year old brother when she was 42 so maybe I just don t want to believe that s what it is. I know I need to go to a doctor but I really don t know what kind of doctor I need to go to and any suggestions on what could be wrong? Thank you, Becky
Wait for some time and if your periods do not come, get clinically examined by a gynecologist. They will do a per vaginal check-up for you to detect bulky uterus. You will be asked to get a blood test / urine test done to test for pregnancy. They may consider doing an ultrasonography to detect pregnancy or ectopic pregnancy. If you are pregnant, you will be treated and managed accordingly.
If you are not pregnant, hormonal tests, T3, T4, TSH, HB%, will be done. You will be examined and evaluated for any other medical condition that may be causing you such symptoms. You will be treated accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
